Railroad Ties
Track Railroad ties are the most important part of the railroad and cost $43 apiece. Donated moneys can be requested to buy ties and will be utilized soon after they arrive on our property so that we can continue to provide safe service. As of January 2012 we need to replace nearly 6000 ties to operate the whole distance of the railroad. We will accept any donations toward track whether it is to be service, rail, hardware, or ties. Each and every donation is important.
Locomotive Maintenance
Locomotives Maintenance of historic equipment is expensive,
and our locomotives are the most important part of the ride. A
donation of a locomotive, depending on condition, provides
parts or another operating locomotive to ensure stable service in
the event our current locomotive fails. If the locomotive is
historic, we are capable of preservation and display for educational purposes. If your donation is monetary you can request it is used for our steam locomotive restoration as well.
Sponsor Passenger Equipment
On occasion we have the opportunity to expand our passenger car fleet, and as we continue to grow, acquiring coaches will be a necessity. We are offering a unique opportunity for sponsorship of passenger equipment which would allow us to free up capital for track maintenance and other expenditures.
Tools & Equipment
We have a complete wish list of tools we need to help the museum operate which you can find on our website or requests in person. Examples include: lathes, welders, torches, wrenches, hammers, historic rail equipment, backhoe, loader, forklift, and more.
