Grounds Maintenance (Summer)
Mowing grass in Grand Rapids (multiple properties). Weed trimming around buildings at Saylor Ln, along displays at Grand Rapids Depot, line/road crossings, etc.

🔧 One-Time & Project Tasks
Motorcar Axle Repair
Fix sprocket from “wandering” on the car and derailing the chain.
New Holland Skid Steer Repair
Diagnose spark/fuel issues, change oil and filters, return to service.
Tie Handler – Detroit Diesel 3-53 Oil Pan Renewal
Replace/exchange damaged oil pan with replacement from core engine.
Power Washing Static Displays
Clean equipment at Saylor Ln, 3rd Street/Grand Rapids Depot, and Yawberg Rd.
Remove OTM from Ties & Switch Timbers
Remove spikes and tie plates (OTM).
Paint Mark Culverts
Mark culverts by hirail truck.
Ludwig Rd Culvert Bracing
Install steel channel to pin pipe segments.
5109 Axle & Pilot Repairs
Reinstall axle combo, front steps, pilot steels, and brake rigging. All members welcome!
Patton Rd Crossing Renewal
Partnership with Lucas County.
Build Walkway Bridge
Construct new walkway bridge.
Spike Ties – Grand Rapids Rd Approach
East side near road crossing.
Spike Ties – Kova Switch
May be completed July 20–24 if not done earlier.
Weed Spray Concrete & Stone Parking
Concrete pad on Triangle Lot and stone parking lot.
Move Grey Ford Tractor from Swamp
Relocate tractor.
Paint Lorre Carts
Low physical stress project.
Junk Lawn Mower Removal
Remove junk mowers (keep Wheel Horse & Eric’s Husqvarna).
Paint Roof Line on Coach 403
Spruce up appearance of static display units.
Box Road Culvert Washout Repair
Work week of July 20–24.
Assemble Pallet Racking
Assemble pallet racking on south wall along track.
Electrical Work
Determine what goes where in existing panel and install & wire track lighting.
Offload / Sell Extra Display Cases
Sell extra display cases.
Offload / Sell Cabinet Unit
Sell cabinet unit.
Acquire Tall Display Case
Obtain at least 1 tall display case for uniform/clothing display.
Acquire Book Shelves
Build or obtain book shelves for used books section of gift shop.
Acquire TV/Monitor
Obtain TV/monitor for showing videos.
Acquire Outside Logo
Obtain outside logo.
Acquire 2 Glass Display Cases
Obtain 2 glass display cases similar to what we have.
Create RR Logos for History Display
Create 8″ RR logos for “family tree”/history of NW Ohio Railroads.
Roster Pictures with Captions
Prepare roster pictures with captions.
