How the afternoon works

This is not a walk-up ride. Cars leave on the hour from noon through 6 p.m. and are back at the platform by 7. Once an hour is full, that departure is closed.

The ticket counter is on Front St., at the south end of the Maumee River bridge crossing. Weather permitting. Bring a jacket. The motorcar is open to the weather. On the day of your ride, call (419) 878-2177 and choose option 2 to confirm we are running.

What to tell the children

One pumpkin

There is time for pictures at the pumpkin patch. Each child may take one pumpkin.

Costumes

A favorite character is welcome. Keep it family friendly, and keep capes and loose pieces clear of the car.

No bridge photo stop

The regular weekend ride stops in the middle of the bridge for a picture. This one does not. The timetable does not leave room for that stop.

This ride is not the Applebutter Fest shuttle. The regular Grand Rapids motorcar ride, walk-up and on its own fare, continues on other weekends through October 31. Those details stay on the motorcar rides page.

Built by our Youth Maintenance of Way crew pilot program. A membership is not required to reserve a seat.
